PUKAR’s Youth Fellowship is a ten month long group research fellowship program. It is an opportunity to understand and practice ‘participatory research’ The fellowship is designed for youth who are currently working or studying but are passionate for doing something constructive in their available time. Fellows are required to work in a group and have the freedom to choose their research topic with the consultation of PUKAR facilitators. . PUKAR provides mentoring and all research related support throughout the year. We believe that anyone and everyone can do research; in fact, we strongly advocate that it should be the right of every individual. Specifically, we believe that ‘participatory research’ holds huge potential to change our society and build a cadre of leaders. Therefore, the overall aim of this fellowship is to transform individuals and communities. The fellowship is conducted from Mumbai (Bandra). But we accept applications from groups based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. TISS accreditation means that the fellowship is recognised and acknowledged by Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. It also means that a successful candidate will receive certificate jointly signed by TISS and PUKAR. No. All the workshops and group meetings will be held in Bandra, Goregaon and YUVA Centre Kharghar or any other meeting place as decided in consultation with group members and facilitators. Each workshop is conducted by different resource persons. For some sessions the resource person are faculty of TISS. You will have a research project compiled by your group and will be trained in participatory research. CBPAR १० महीने का ग्रुप रिसर्च प्रोग्राम है| इस प्रोग्राम में ‘पार्टिसिपेटरी रिसर्च’ सीखने का मौका मिलता है, यह प्रोग्राम TISS के साथ जुड़कर एक सर्टिफिकेट कोर्स भी है| इस प्रोग्राम में रिसर्च से सम्बंधित हर तरह का मार्गदर्शन और सहायता दी जाती है| यह प्रोग्राम यूथ के लिए है जो अपनी पढाई और काम के साथ कुछ नया सीखने में उत्सुकता रखते हैं| पुकार मानता है की हर एक व्यक्ति रिसर्च कर सकता/ सकती है और रिसर्च सबका अधिकार है| अगर रिसर्च सहभागिता पद्धति से किया जाए तो समाज में बदलाव लाया जा सकता है और रिसर्च का इस्तमाल नौजवान युवा पीढ़ी को बदलाव करने के लिए प्रेरित करता है| इसलिए पिछले १९ सालों से पुकार ‘ यूथ फ़ेलोशिप प्रोजेक्ट’ के माध्यम से मुंबई शहर और आसपास के इलाके में संशोधन प्रकल्प कर रही है | नहीं, कार्यशाला सम्बंधित सारी मीटिंग्स बांद्रा और खारघर या फिर किसी और जगह जो सबकी सहमती से चुनी गई हो वही पर होगी| हर कार्यशाला अलग व्यक्ति द्वारा ली जाती है जैसे की सामाजिक विषयों पर काम करने वाले कार्यकर्ता, किसी सामाजिक संस्था के चालक, विविध विषयों पर ज्ञान प्राप्त किए हुई व्यक्ति आदि| कुछ कार्यशालाओ के लिए TISS के अध्यापकों को भी बुलाया जा सकता है| कोर्स मेंआपकी उपस्तिथि जरुरी है और जब आप पूरी प्रक्रिया को सफलता पूर्वक पूरा करने पर आपको PUKAR की तरफ़ से TISS से मान्यता प्राप्त एक प्रमाण पत्र दिया जाएगा| फ़ेलोशिप के अंत में आपके ग्रुप द्वारा लिखी गयी रिसर्च रिपोर्ट आपके पास होगी और आप सामाजिक रिसर्च में प्रशिक्षित होंगे | आपको जॉब हासिल करने के लिए जो स्किल्स जरुरी होते है वो हासिल हो जायेंगेI You can only apply through online mode. Having a group of at least 08 to 10 members is a mandatory criterion. No need of any education. In this case you can contact with the Youth Fellowship Team for getting help. Your application will not be considered if you don’t have a group of 08-10 members at the time of application. However, if you have at least 5-6 members and if you are in process of connecting with more members, we may consider your application. However, it is mandatory to have whole group at the time of interview process. No, English is not at all necessary. All the trainings and co-ordination will be conducted in Hindi. We always encourage fellows to express in their own comfortable language. Education is not required for this fellowship. Enthusiasm, curiosity and time commitment is expected from each applicant. No fees involved in the program. PUKAR will take care of all the expenses but you have to give your full commitment of your availability. No, it is not fulltime. Groups are expected to attend 1 residential workshop and few one day workshops in selected months. All the trainings will happen only on Sunday’s either in Bandra, kharghar or Goregaon. Groups are expected to meet twice a month for their own regular updates and planning. A facilitator, assigned to each group, will meet with each group twice a month. No. PUKAR does not provide any individual remuneration, stipend or allowances to any fellow. However, PUKAR understands that conducting a research is an expensive process. Therefore, we have arranged RS. 50000/- research fund for each group. Research fund is a limited amount given by PUKAR to each research group. This amount is mandated to use for research purpose only. All the basic expenses need to be covered from this amount. PUKAR will give this amount in equal instalments, thrice a year, upon the successful completion of each phase. PUKAR यह समझता है, की रिसर्च एक खर्चीली प्रक्रिया है| इसलिए हर ग्रुप को एक रिसर्च फण्ड दिया जाएगा| जिसकी राशी ५०,००० रुपये होगी| PUKAR किसी को भी व्यक्तिगत फण्ड या वेतन नहीं देती है| रिसर्च फण्ड एक सीमित राशी है जो हर चुने हुए ग्रुप को दी जाती है| इसका इस्तेमाल रिसर्च के काम के लिए ही किया जाना चाहिए| सारे सामान्य खर्चे इस में से करने है| PUKAR इस राशी को टुकडो में देगा, यानी साल में ३ बार हर फेज के सफलता पूर्वक ख़तम हो जाने पर और जरुरी कार्य पुरे होने पर| इस साल का रिसर्च के खर्च की मर्यादा ५०,००० रूपये तक सीमित है, जिसके लिए आपके ग्रुप के खर्चे का अकाउंट, बिल के साथ जमा करना होगा | Youth Fellowship is a carefully designed program where each individual will go through an intense process of self-exploration, understanding and practicing ‘participatory research’ and group work. Fellowship process emphasizes on core components of self-development (namely communications, participation, team work, collaborative leadership and critical thinking). Perspective building sessions on important concepts like Caste, Religion, Gender and Governance will also be conducted. Overall, it is an experiential learning process where equal importance is given to learning skills/concepts in the workshop settings and testing/ practicing those in the field. ‘Praxis’ is an integral part of fellowship. At the end, each group will produce original research report which will be showcased at various platforms. Your group will decide topic with the consultation with PUKAR facilitators. Topic should be linked with your own community or your life experiences. No need to have a prior final topic for selection in the process. Yes.
